Month 2 Honduras Recap

10th – Left Antigua, Guatemala at 4 A.M., rode in a Greyhound bus for 15 hours and 45 mins. Wade was my "bus buddy" which was good cuz all we both wanted to do was sleep and watch movies LOL They even had two on-bus movies which was very cool. It was definetly the nicest traveling day EVER! We stopped only three times…. first time was around 8 A.M. when we hit the El Salvador boarder where we had to get our passports stamped! Then we stopped at an American place (like a nice gas station where you could only pay with dollars or card) many many hours later. Then we stopped again at the Honduras boarder….. Then one last time in Los Pinos to change buses at around 9 P.M. in a scetch place.

QUICK SHOUT OUT TO THE B SQUAD MEN!!!! We (the women) NEVER had to carry our packs. When in the scetch area they made us get on the next bus where it was safe and they'd take care of our bags. They really stepped up their game and took GREAT care of us all!!! YAY FOR B SQUAD MEN ESPECIALLY MY MEN JAKE AND WADE!!!

When we arrived to where we're staying we had a HUGE WARM WELCOME!!! We have the choice of either sleeping in our tents outside or in what used to be an old night club that they transformed into a place to serve God and the community….. aka LEGIT!!!

11th-12th We got settled in and learned more about Tony and our ministry. Tony is the guy who transformed the old night club, takes street kids into his home and continues to love on kids and the local community of Los Pinos and the surrounding areas. He took us all up to the Jesus Statue that looks over the city in the local National Park….. We prayed over the city… It was AWESOME just being in God's Creation praying for his people.

13th – Was when we got to meet our ministry contact…. Pastor Selenas. After church (which is about 3-4 hours long here) they took us to Pizza Hut and to the mall. Very hospitible and glad to have us! My team is the first Americans to visit their church and work with them! We also learned about what we are going to be doing this month….. DRUM ROLL PLEASE……….. We are doing a ton of different things….. Visiting and praying over people in the Hospitals and Nursing Homes, Feeding the Homeless, Prayer Walking through different neighborhoods, and working with the local youth….. AND that's just with our contact! When we are at home at Tony's we are ALWAYS ministrying and loving on the kids there!!!! There's also World Race Alumni here!!!!!!!!!!! SO EXCITING to be able to spend time with Ashley and Zeb and learn from them! They've been a huge blessing to us all! Ashley also brought her two younger sisters with here and they've been here for 2 months and Zeb has been here for 1 month. They're all headed back home 2 weeks before Christmas!!
