What an eventful last few days….. Where shall I begin?
Friday morning we went to the city dump, where we brought food for the families that lived there. Our ministry contact shared with these hurting people the hope in Christ and how much He’s loves them. Let me paint you a picture….. imagine a massive hole filled with trash! Dogs everywhere looking for food…. Look down and you see about a dozen or so adults and children digging in the trash looking for food for their families to eat…..just trying to survive. Then we open the back of the van to start handing out the food….. People started coming for NO WHERE!!! One of the families had just lost their home and daughter in a fire. Heart breaking stories….. After giving out all the food our contact shares with them why we are here helping them.
ALL BECAUSE OF JESUS!!!
When he was almost finished a woman and her three children came up looking for food, but we were out. Then I remembered that we had PB and Bread in our backpacks for lunch that day; as a team we decided to give this mother all that we had even though it wasn’t much it was more than the nothing that she had. She was so grateful to us. For me this whole experience was very emotional because I feel like we should do more and more but sometimes the more is giving your lunch away…..
Prayer Challenge this week would be for the poor of Guatemala….. Never have I seen poverty like this and I know that it will get worse as we travel this world…. THANKS!!!
