Guatemala
What a beautiful country!! Because of the hurricane in Mexico we've been getting a crazy amount of rain and believe it or not it is so cold here!!! Our ministry contacts have been so awesome to us! We're working with a ministry that works with children that have no homes. They're all court ordered here, for many different reasons. They also care for HIV babies, at the moment they only have two. The two baby girl's mothers had tragic stories and that is why they're here. But PRAISE JESUS because these precious baby girls have been healed and no longer have HIV!!!!!!!!! I just LOVE how Papa still heals even today!!!
Here are some fun facts!!!
- only get hot water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday cuz we have to start a fire to heat it
- we can't flush our toliet paper
- for dinner we either have beans and rice or rice and beans LOL
- powdered milk is all new to me aka gross
- rubber boots are sent from Heaven haha
- picking beans in the field for hours can acutally be really fun
- showering is NOT in our daily route
- Barney is still cool here
- the food really isn't that bad
- they kill there bunny rabbits for food! scary I know…. so you never know if it's chicken, beef or rabbit
- mud is part of our clothes every day
- it is normal to be hungry
- my pants are already too big haha
- we all sing even though we suck (except Jake)
- sugar on rice is good
- Drinking oatmeal is a snack
- every thing is dirt cheap
- the roads are INSANE
- Pot holes as big as me if not bigger
- Children and babies cry at all hours of the day and night!!
- Lots of physical labor
- Children are teaching us Spanish SO EXCITED
- Alone time is something foreign to us!
- Feedback is NEEDED daily!
