Much has changed in the short time since our squad gathered for debrief in Australia and together traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. First, I have been asked to be a Squad Leader. Chelsea Hughes, Jake Morris, and I will together take on this role at the end of our month in Malaysia, when our current Squad Leaders (Kelsey Sage and Julie Lortz) complete their time with us and return to the states. The three of us will in essence become a team designed to lead the teams of our squad into new frontiers in ministry and faith as we all journey together through the remaining 7 months of our World Race.

I believe God has placed me in this role for many reasons, and I can already see some of the ways He is planning to use it to stretch my faith, strengthen my courage, and humble my spirit. Being asked to lead a group of extraordinary people into unknown territory and experiences is an intimidating task, and because of that I know it is one of God’s perfect means of keeping me relying daily on His strength, wisdom, and grace, and not my own.
From now on we will spend our time visiting multiple teams throughout each month. We’ll do ministry with them, encourage them, speak words of life over them, and ultimately aim to challenge and push them individually and corporately to new levels of faith and freedom in Christ.
The first weeks of this month in Malaysia have subsequently been a very different experience than previous months because much time has been dedicated to learning and growing in our new roles as Team ‘Squeaders’…thats the brilliant combo of Squad-Leaders.
Please pray for divine wisdom, grace, peace as we all transition into this next phase of the race.
