Reflections from Training Camp:

I thought I knew what it meant to be Christian.
I thought I had it together.
I thought I knew what joy before the Lord was like.
I thought I knew Jesus.
I thought I knew what it meant to love.

Wanna know the truth? I don't know much of anything.
Not only that, but I am a mess.
But it wouldn't be much of a story if it ended there.

Let me let you in on a little secret: God still loves you.
Messiness is the predecessor to transformation.
He's not sitting up there ready to smite you every time you mess up.
In fact, he's ready to take your mess and make it beautiful.
He doesn't ask us to be perfect.
Only He is perfect.
All He wants is a YES.

Give Him everything, and I PROMISE:
You will never be the same again.

We have two choices in life.
Go in guns blazing,
ready to be messsed up in the best way,
or hold back.

My advice?
DON'T HOLD BACK.
You will regret it.
Being vulnerable is scary at first.
But here's another secret:
Getting your junk out there not only brings freedom to you,
but others as well.
I guarantee that by giving him EVERYTHING,
you will come out a better you,
with a deeper understanding of yourself
and a zeal for your God like never before.

So hike up your shorts,
go to the deep end of the pool
and dive in.

You may be surprised what's hidden there.
