1 Thessalonians 1:3
We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced
by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by
hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
There are three key factors here faith, love, and hope.
Faith- works come from faith, cuz when you begin to have faith in God
and trust in Him always knowing that He will take care of you, then
works will follow. It just a natural reaction, we just want to start
doing things for God cuz we know that He’ll be with us every step of
the way. That we can do all things in Christ so in turn we start to do
more things.
Love- are labor is out of love for God, when we truly love God are
labor is about Him and not are own self gain or reward were going to
get out of it. So when you go to church to help out at the work day
and you truly love God it begins to be about that you enjoy picking up
the trash around the church. But not becuz someone is going to see you
and pat you on the back, but becuz you love God so much that you want
to make sure His yards clean.
Hope- you keep on, keeping on cuz of hope. If there’s one thing that
can keep you going during this time of works and labor it’s the hope
of Gods promise. As children of God we know that there’s a prize at
the end of the road, that we have a perpouse and calling on are lifes.
So we hold on to that and keep on pressing in and moving forward. As
it says in Gal 6:9 ” do not grow weary in doing good things cuz in the
end we’ll reap the harvest if we don’t give up! “
So there it is faith, love, and hope a great combo!
