Okay guys. When I first started out this crazy journey called the World Race, I spent a great chunk of my time perusing tips blogs and packing blogs left and right. And trust me, there are some great ones out there. But as a racer who just passed the halfway point, here’s my personal foray into a tried and true, world-race-six-month tested packing and tip blog.
TIP ONE:
It doesn’t matter. No seriously. I’m not kidding. Don’t worry about what you bring. Don’t spend one more minute caring about what kind of tent to buy or what kinds of clothing to bring or how much spending money you should budget. None of it matters one bit.
Don’t worry about your sleeping pad. You’ll still have sleepless nights.
Don’t worry about your clothing. You’ll still be too hot, be too cold, be too underdressed, take too much, take too little, etc…
Don’t worry about your pack. It will only ever hold so much.
Don’t worry about whether you bring a laptop or a phone or a tablet or a water proof case. You will still have months with no wifi. You will still probably get them wet somehow. You will still miss home like crazy.
Don’t worry about whether you get shots or take doxy or pack enough bugspray. You’ll still get bit. You’ll still get tummy aches. You’ll still want your mommy to be there.
Don’t worry about how many baby wipes to bring. You will still run out.
Don’t worry about the Race. God’s work will still be done, whether you decide to bring 2 maxi skirts or just 1 reversible one. God will still move you where He wants you to go, whether you pack 5 pairs of heavy duty, $15 underwear or 15 pairs of cotton undies. God will still take away from you what He wants to take away from you, whether you plan ahead and prepare to the hilt or simply wing it and bring next to nothing. And God will still give you what He wants to give you, whether you go in with open hands or closed ones. Your preparation and plans and packing schemes do not matter.

TIP THREE:
God has it covered. Trust Him.
