So this blog is long
overdue! Im sorry my friends. My life is flipped upside down.
Over the past two weeks,
we’ve had MANY opportunities in two different cities in Bulgaria. One
week, we preached every night for a local congregation, sharing passages
of Scripture and personal testimonies. We also worked at a local nursing
home cutting grass, painting sidewalks, cleaning windows, and putting
together a mini concert with Brookes guitar. Our last week, we cleaned out
our contacts garage that caught fire a couple months ago.
God is answering
our prayers, which is what I wanted to continue from my
last blog post. It reminds me of James 5:16, The pray of the righteous man
is powerful and effective. Here are some ways I’ve seen the Lord answering
and guiding me:
My left hamstring
was extremely tight for 3 days straight. My teammates prayed, and immediately
the next morning, it was relaxed. I was able to hike through mountain villages
the next morning with no problem. We prayed with a woman
and asked the Lord for rain. As soon as we went outside, DARK storm
clouds rolled in. It rained all the next week.We visited an 95 year
old believer who has no strength to walk around. I didnt know what to pray
for, so I asked the Lord to bring her more visitors. After we were done, I
found out through translation that was what she had asked for.We visited a man
who was laying home sick, and he accepted the Gospel. We found out days later,
he was beginning to read the Bible we left.Gods presence came down
when the girls were singing at the nursing home. Many people came to
listen. It reminded me that God draws all men unto Himself. We also spoke and
prayed for a resident, Ganka, who had weak knees. Afterwards, she said her
knees felt stronger and went for a walk.We went to visit a
widow, Baba Minka, and sing for her. We were able to encourage her and
spend time with her. During that time, our contacts sister-in-law came with
her child, who was very sick and throwing up. We continued singing, praising
God, and His presence came down. God led us to anoint the child with oil, speak
Scripture over her, and pray. The child was better two days later. Many of our church members
loved ones were sick. We prayed throughout the week, and by the time we
left, all persons were doing much better.
So an update of where
I’m at. My heart is in an odd place, and it’s been there before. Have you ever
sensed the Lord is up to something BIG?
Like your heart is being pounded on, crushed, and turned inside out?
this is what it feels like inside right now.
The glimpses I’ve caught
overwhelm me, but I’ve been reminded that God is infinite. We will never be
able to comprehend what He’s doing. Jesus even told the disciples this, before
He was betrayed: “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot
bear them now (John 16:12).”
You guys.
Listen. Sometimes God doesn’t reveal His
entire plan because we cannot handle everything at once. How many of us would
want to go through trials and tribulations, knowing such suffering lies ahead?
How many of us would cop out of caring our cross? Human will is weak, and God
knows this. This is why He tells us to come to Him.
so i hold tight to Christ.
i continue call out
to Him and seek HIM
in times of confusion, frustration, and darkness. He is faithful.
