Wow, training camp has come and gone. I was totally not ready. I chose not to bring my rain jacket, thinking the 50% chance of rain meant nothing with all the sunshineI we would have. I have never been more wrong in my life. Note for future racers: Don’t try and take on Weather.com. Thank the LORD AIM thinks more than twice about sending people around the world for 11 months.
God is going to do some DEEP things this upcoming year, and it kind of freaks me out. You know your heart will break. You’ll see and share in people’s pain, misery, hopelessness, and despair. I find myself constantly asking God, “What can I do, Lord?”
Do you ever feel like the Lord is calling you to something, and you start freaking out because you know it’s going to be a HUGE undertaking?
That’s how I’m starting to feel. God gave one of my squad-mates, Amy, a couple visions for me this week. They reminded me that the Lord Himself is leading me on this journey, and I don’t need to worry. I’d like to share two:
- There was a staircase with vines intertwining across, which I needed to go up. There was light, however, going up in the shape of the cross, breaking through and leading the way.
- There was a muddy trail that I was tip-toeing through, but the light of the cross was leading the way.
As long as God goes before me on this trip, I’m good. It’s time to learn how to walk with the Spirit this year.
To all my readers out there, trust God in the BIG things He’s calling you to. Yes, they’re going to be very hard and nerve-racking at times. You’ll want to pull out your hair, but God is worth it. Is He good? Yes. Does He lie? Does He mislead us and trick us? No. He’s trustworthy, and He loves us.
Press on to know Him and make Him known.
