As you may know some of my teammates and I went on a six-day trek through the Annapurna Range of the Himalayas. Each day we walked anywhere from 6-9 hours, coming to a grand total of about 35 miles over the six days. So needless to say, I had a lot of time to reflect on the beauty of the mountains with God. I couldn’t help but be in awe of His creation. The peaks, the valleys, the snow-kissed tree branches. They all mirrored the intricacy and beauty of our Creator. But one day as I walked through the mountains and kept coming face to face with the full view of the mountain range I couldn’t help but stare at the peak of Mt. Machapuchare (also known as Fish Tail) and say out loud “Fishtail, you are so beautiful.” But as I said it, God whispered to me, “You know how beautiful you think that mountain is? I look at you and think you are even more beautiful.”
God revealed to me that, as hard as it is to believe, the beauty of the Himalayas does not compare to the beauty in me and all of His children because we are created in His image.
I am thankful for this lesson.
Thankful to be His.
Thankful for the privilege to serve the Almighty Powerful One.
God breathed passion and excitement for the next three months and beyond to me while I trekked and trampled through the Himalayas. I trust Him. I’m excited to continue the adventure of life with Him. And I am thankful for the blessing of being able to live in His awe-inspiring creation of Nepal for one month.
These pictures don’t do the Himalayas or Nepal justice. They are the definition of picturesque. But as you look at them and ooh and aah over their beauty… know that you are even more beautiful and even more loved in the eyes of our precious Creator.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth… God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them… and behold, it was very good.” – Genesis 1
