Training camp just finished up and it was a week of camping, surprise, adventure, and God giving us a phenomenal gift. I had no idea what to expect prior to training camp, but my world got rocked by the presence of God among 200 people that decided to give up the next year of their life to see how God wants to use them in peoples lives around the world. Kristin and I are part of the Q squad, which is the larger group of 50 people that we will travel country to country with. We are also a part of a smaller team within our squad, Team Lets Get Weird, and those are the 5 people that Kristin and I will spend everyday with for the next year. I could not be more excited about our team. I know the Lord is going to use us in fun, challenging ways to care for each other and people on our route. After our team was revealed to us at the end of the week, I was deeply convicted about being worried and nervous about who was going to be on our team because it revealed in me that I did not trust God and what He was doing. God has never given me a reason to doubt Him, and He has always only produced good in my life even when the forecast showed no signs of good to come. I still doubted that He could deliver a team that we could work well with and truly enjoy being around for a year. Well, I am a fool. It is embarrassing and humbling to talk with God and say you are right again and I am sorry. I need faith to replace my unbelief. I need the Lord to remove my disbelief and replace it with more of Him.

Training camp was a good reminder of the fact that, through Jesus, God has invited me in to a deeply personal and intimate relationship with Himself and that He wants to be with me always. He is the greatest gift giver of all time and He loves to reveal himself to his children.

I am ready for the World Race and I am beyond excited to spend the next year of my life with Team: Lets Get Weird.

You are loved.
