If there were a local paper, highlighting our
month, this is how it would read.
Xhosa children come to Jesus through soccer and
surfing.
37 volunteers came to Coffee Bay, pitched their
tents and started a outreach program to the village children. The program runs
from 2:00pm to 4:30pm daily, Monday through Friday. On weekends you can find these volunteers in the
village worshipping, some in the ocean, others resting and even still some
making friends with the local bead sellers. They are on a mission to love those
around them, including their own community. Often times they are found
laughing, smiling and dancing through the streets because the joy of the Lord
is upon them. They host Church twice a week at the Festival Grounds at Bomvo,
Wednesday and Friday at 1pm. All are welcome to come and join. Worship is sung
every morning at 8am in the Prayer room/ Yoga room. It is encouraged to come and
see. They draw quite a bit of interest
as they act nothing like the typical tourist. They sacrifice their comforts and
choose tents over rooms, even in the rain and cold. They choose rice and beans
over dairy so more people can join them and eat. They welcome and include all
people, no matter the color, background or influence of drugs or alcohol.
