The Underground Baptism
Words aren’t going to do the happenings of this day justice. We started in Thailand with as few expectations as possible, but God has blown us away farther then we had thought possible.
The day started with us getting dirty. We were at our contacts land clearing away the jungle for a fence to be put in. Many scorpions killed, snakes seen and red ant bites later we headed off for the hike. It started off with an intense 4 wheel drive road going through some remote Kerin villages. Then an hour hike down a mountain that was more than picturesque. We came up to the cave that had a mountain river flowing through it. So we put our head lamps on, rolled up our pants and started in through the water, which was up to our thighs. About 15 minutes of trudging through the river in darkness we came out the other side to a garden of Eden.
Let me make clear that Jamie had been baptized before and I was when I was very little but it had no significant meaning to me. Our contact Ray Ward which is one of the most amazing man of God you will ever meet spoke life into us, telling us this is the start of a new life for Jamie and I. A life that no longer had the baggage, a marriage that is God honoring and God fearing. I got into the deepest part of the river and my team and Ray laid their hands on me and spoke truths and poured life into me. Lets say that it was very difficult holding back the tears feeling the intimacy that God was giving me at that moment. I went under and came up, the sound of warriors voices filled the air. Freedom. No more hate, no more fear! I saw who I am. I looked into the eyes of the king, I heard His voice saying I am loved. I now know who I am, I am loved, loved. Freedom.
Jamie came into the water and I will say if you haven’t baptized anyone before then your missing out! I felt so honored, I felt so much on my shoulders, but at the same time I was floating under an audience of Gods Angels singing. We began speaking life into Jamie, under she went, she rose into more warriors of God screaming out into the Heavens.
Who gets to be baptized in a river in the jungle of Thailand! God has such overwhelming amount of love. He has such big plans for us, we can no longer be blind to His plan. We are released to worship and no longer be silent, the voice of fear will no longer hold us back.
