Heavenly Voices in the
Presence of Daddy
Euro African Baptist
Church
Zomba, Malawi
“I
want to follow Jesus. That is the sound of the Euro African Baptist Youth
Choir. The sound hitting your ears is like nothing that you have ever heard. No
orchestra, no multi-million dollar cd, no world renowned rock band could ever
produce a sound like this. The first time our ears experienced it, every single
American eye in the place was wet with tears of bliss. It can’t be explained;
it can only be experienced. I wish you were there to hear the real deal, the
sound of Heaven coming from the mouths of the Euro African Baptist Youth Choir.
Jeremy Harris and I had the
privilege of meeting with Pastor Medson Gama and the three leaders of the youth
choir, Grant Kawamba, Samuel Waile, and Wilkes Watch to organize a day to
record and produce their first music CD. The men said that they had been
praying for this to happen for quite some time, so that people may know what
they sound like in other countries. I told them that I wanted to tell their
story, I wanted to get the word out about Euro African Baptist Church of Zomba,
Malawi, I wanted people to know their prayer needs and how to pray for them, I
wanted people to know that God is at work in Zomba too! Well, here is our
chance! You, my friends, are the help we need!

To give you a
little more insight about the heart of Euro African Baptist Church, they are a
church filled with the joy of the Lord. They are faithful men and women,
willing to serve wherever the Lord calls, whether they are ‘capable’ by human
standards or not. These people operate on little money and use every bit of it
to feed ten orphans that they house. It costs $106 to feed all ten orphans two
means a day for one month but they can only afford to feed them one meal a day
currently. The church doesn’t know it (only Pastor Gama knows) but I want to
tell their story, spread their prayer needs, and let the sound of Euro African
Baptist Youth Choir hit the ears of all by taking donations for this CD that I
will produce when I return to the states. 100% of that money will go to feeding
the orphans and taking care of the other needs that the church has like
completing the floor, getting electricity, housing for the orphans and funding
a youth program. I have already completed the music but the rest will be
completed this coming summer.
The CD will be
complete with 19 tracks of their very own worship music (Chichewa &
English), graphics, a choir picture and information about the choir as well as
ways to contact them. There may even be a DVD of a few songs, as we
recorded them in high definition video as well. If you would like to support
Euro African Baptist Church with donating for your copy, please contact me at
the e-mail address below and we will go from there.
CDs will be available as a hard
copy or either online through me.
If you would
like hear more about their needs, please e-mail me at [email protected] or
Pastor Gama at [email protected]
Until then,
please check out Alecia Hodges’ blog about two of the girls in the choir,
Sisters.
