One evening, we headed to a village we were to hold our outreach meeting in. Upon arrival and during our home visits, we were informed that this particular village is predominantly Hindu. Nearly all the people we passed had a red dot in the middle of their forehead. We stopped to pray as we passed colorful and elaborate temples of Hindu gods. I could feel excitement grow inside of me.

Rewind to that morning… I lay awake on the rooftop of the church asking the Lord to direct my message tonight. I was to preach and wanted to prepare in advance. Mounibob, our translator, had instructed us to keep our messages simple. Most of the villagers are illiterate and advanced sermons with multiple verse references can be confusing. After some time and discussion with Abby, I decided to write a sermon framing Creation to Christ using simple verses and language. I wasn’t so sure that this was God-inspired, but it would work for tonight.

Fast forward back to the village… as I prepared to stand and deliver my message, a smile swept across my face. Reading through my message, I found multiple places where I wrote the words “worship Jesus ONLY” or “Jesus wants us to serve Him ONLY.” God is so cool! I confidently stood in front of my audience of “red-dot” people and preached my message of “Jesus only.” I had no fear, knowing that God had prepared my message specific to these people.

This experience reminds me of Moses standing before the burning bush. In Exodus 4:12, the Lord said “Now then go and I, even I, will be your mouth and will teach you what you are to say.” I am excited to see how else God will move on my behalf and guide me into His will.

Please continue to pray for our team and us. There is still a lot of ministry to be done. Ask the Lord to guide us and give us the stamina we need to continue this race. Thank you.

Be blessed!
