As many of you are aware I decided to stop shaving about one month before I left for the World Race. The goal was to go one year without shaving my face. I was motivated to grow this crazy beard after reading “Wild at Heart” for the second time. I felt like God was telling me “be a wild man for me this year like John the Baptist.” So growing this beard was the physical representation of the change happening inside of me this year. The goal was to be a new man by the end of the race.
God, on the other hand, had a different plan in mind. Over the past few days God has put something else on my heart. I felt God saying that my beard can do more than just be a symbol of what God’s doing in my heart, it can help my teammates. I’m sure you’re all wondering how a nasty, six month beard can help my teammates. The answer, through a beard shaving fundraiser. Curt, Jeannie, Lacey, and Theresa each need $3000-$5000 to be fully funded. So here’s the deal if my four teammates collectively raise at least $2000 in the next 2 weeks I will shave my beard.
The final date is January 26. You can donate online with your credit/debit card by going to their personal blog sites which are:
