Given that Thanksgiving was a few days ago I’d like to blog about some things I’m very grateful for that I typically over look in life.
Things I’m thankful for:
Toilet paper
Many places in Asia don’t have toilet paper and some places don’t have toilets.
Coke
Thank Goodness Coke is even in remote places in Asia. It’s the only thing that keeps me from going insane sometimes.
I’m a missionary
Before this trip I had this idea that you had to be a “Super Christian” to be a full time missionary. I thought that my sins and faults were too great for me to serve the Lord like that. That’s a lie from the enemy. God wants to use us to spread His kingdom despite our down falls.
Purpose
So many of us have struggled with this concept of what purpose do we have on this earth. It made Rick Warren a rich man with his book, “Purpose Driven Life.” But know that God has an amazing plan for everyone (Jeremiah 29:11). That he desires to use us where we are and with the gifts he has blessed us with. God is good!
Showers
I’m not even talking about the luxury of a hot shower. The facility itself is amazing considering that in the past week I’ve both showered in a leech infested river and on a separate occasion I showered in the rain.
Community
Thank you Father that I’m in a community of God fearing men and women. Let me tell you, at the end of the day that makes all the difference.
Peanut Butter
When you eat rice everyday seeing a jar of that creamy goodness can make you feel like you just won the lottery.
Team United
Im so thankful that I have the best team on R Squad.
Happy belated Thanksgiving everybody.
God Bless
