“Truth Alone Triumphs”
is a mantra from the ancient Indian scripture Mundaka Upanishad. Upon independence of India it was adopted as the national motto of India.
These past two weeks have been great thus far. As most people say when they return home from a mission trip and/or traveling to impoverished nations they are moved by the hospitality, joy and authentic kindness of people. I am experiencing all of these situations. The brotherly and sisterly love is beautiful here in India.
Our contacts and others have been so hospitable. They treat us like Kings and Queens. We (my team) are served the meal first and they wait until we are done to eat. They delight in watching us eat and serving us throughout. Just imagine a mountain of curry, rice and chai. We always leave stuffed to the brim 😉
Many people said that India would be difficult to travel to. The food, weather, noise, pollution, smells, garbage and unsanitary conditions would be shocking and difficult to contend with. I can’t say it is walk in the park but it has been proving to be an easier experience then I previously expected. My heart continues to delight in these beautiful people.
We hiked to the top of Gunadala Hill, handing out bags of cooked biryani and prayed over the poor while ascending. It was an incredible experience. Once we arrived at the summit, we enjoyed the view of Vijaywada. I prayed with thankfulness in my heart for this beautiful city and its people.
The Truth is they are loved by God and He relentlessly provokes their hearts. He calls them into a relationship. This land is being tilled for the triumphant glory of God. It is no coincidence that India has this motto. It has significance.
TRUTH ALONE TRIUMPHS
God Bless,
