I'm going to bust a rhyme for ya! Here goes nothing:

My name is Claire and I have really long hair
Some would even say I smell like a bear.
I grew up in Seaford, Delaware
Where we played a lot of foursquare
We have more chickens than people
but you can always see the church steeple
My hometown friends are the greatest
and always keep me up to speed with the latest.
We may have been mischievous back in the day
and our parents probably got together to pray.
You could always find us at Pizza King
but we weren’t there purely for the cha-ching.
We grew up and had to part ways
but I will forever say their names in praise.
I love going back to D-E
where you’re never too far to capture the sweet smell of the sea.

I went to college in P-A
where we all went a little cray-cray.
Salmonella made freshman year rough
but it gave me a friend I now call hot stuff.
We played hockey and ran habitually
but it was okay because we also ate quite frequently.
My team meant so much to me
that I would do anything for them to the 10th degree.
Jamie, Tricia and I were quite the group.
I was often found hanging out on their stoop.
216 West Jackson is where we spent most of our time
and I must say it was pretty sublime.
The thermostat was set on 56 degrees
but it was okay as we “snoodled” to never freeze.
The friends I made in college I now consider family
and with them I live day-to-day cheerily.

I fell in love with a place where everyone’s a giver
It’s called Pecometh and it’s on the Chester River.
My camp friends come from near and afar
One’s a kiwi who I would take anywhere as a passenger in my car.
When we’re together we may sound like a banshee
But they will always mean the world to me.
Words cannot express my gratitude toward their inspiration
I swear they could heal this entire nation

I am now a field hockey coach
and my team will tell you that I’m not hard to approach.
I lived in Memphis for quite some time
where I got to wipe the cutest behind.
His name is Anthony and he is such a big boy now
and I hate it whenever I have to tell him “ciao”.
I can’t thank his family enough
for all the support they showed me when times got tough.
I consider Jane, Meg, and Regina my valentines.
They always come up with the best punch lines.
Even though I may sometimes be remote
I can always count on them for an uplifting note.

I never thought I’d live in Kentucky
But I consider myself pretty lucky
I have the best boss in the world
She even likes me when my hair is curled
I’ve met some awesome people in the last few years
One of which is named Alice who always has listening ears
They’ve stood by me when I’ve wanted to move on
Even when they considered my giant-like brawn
I will look back on my time in Lexington with a smile
And think that it was all worthwhile

My family is my rock and foundation
their support seems like a mode of transportation
My mom and dad should be considered saints
As they live life without many complaints
Philip, Erin and Keller always make me smile and laugh
I’m sure they know I will enjoy this journey on their behalf

They all showed me the way, the truth and the light
And with that, I can give The World Race all of my might
