Don’t freak out! Aside from difficulty eating from the cut in my mouth, I’m feelin’ dandy. There’s a first for everything, and today was my first trip to the emergency room. With a high deductible insurance plan that ends today, I guess it was the perfect timing to use up all that money saved (for those who don’t know me, note the sarcasm here).

It started with stomach pains when I woke up Sunday morning and gradually got worse throughout the day. I slept on and off throughout the afternoon. By evening, I had aches and chills and what felt like a fever. And by early morning today, I fell and hit a corner of my wall on one my trips to the bathroom (probably due to low blood pressure), which resulted in biting the inside of my mouth and adding major bruises to my already bruised knees from rock climbing hah. After lying on the ground and crawling around for a while since I couldn’t stand up, I decided that it was time for the hospital.

Of course, I got progressively better and felt almost fine by the time I got there. The only concern was my low blood pressure, but it slowly rose as I sat around in my very fashionable hospital gown. I may be down a couple hundred dollars or however much ER visits cost but so grateful to be spared from any worse stomach bugs crawling around out there…at least for now. God’s been good and has been taking care of me. Got a pretty sweet bracelet with my name on it 😉 And thankful for my friend who so willingly took me to the hospital and listened to my medical background and gory symptoms at 6am in the morning while he was also sick with a bug.

Second Fundraising Deadline Upate

Tomorrow is the last day to donate online for my second deadline. I need to have $7500 before I leave. I have some good news.

1) No more online processing fees! Use your credit or debit card, use your bank account, use your friend’s bank account–that 2-3% fee to donate online is gone! Check it.

2) I’ve been feeling so overwhelmed that I haven’t focused on fundraising, but I’ve been trusting in Him to provide. God is continually pouring so much, and this past week, my friends threw me a surprise going-away party! I actually almost turned in for the night to sleep. Aside from the fact that I couldn’t get away from my face anywhere I turned (t-shirts errrwhere), it was SO wonderful, and I am blessed to have such amazing friends who support and care so much about me

3) I have some smalls left but just about sold most of my t-shirts! There are a handful of people who would like one but I don’t have the particular size so if you missed the first order but would still like one, please fill out this form or tell me!

4) From the party mentioned and donations from t-shirt sales, I have raised enough to meet my second deadline wooot! By the time everything’s in, I should be at about $7972! He provides and is still providing! All the praises to Him!!! And I can’t thank everyone enough, so I will again–THANK YOU! I would love to be fully funded before I leave, so if you haven’t, I’m asking that you prayerfully consider sharing or donating.

5) For those in the Kalamazoo area, I didn’t know about that surprise party but am throwing myself a little pizza fundraising party this Wednesday evening. Find out more here 😀

More details are slowly being revealed, and I’m getting quite excited to serve around the world! 22 days until Atlanta!
