Here’s where my brain again kicks into user experience mode. I’m scrolling through Facebook and see some vague posts about somebody going…on a race? Amazing Race? What is this? I click on the link that she finally made accurate and accessible. And I see this blog. What is this? The About section talks about her; well, I kind of already know about her. BUT WHAT IS THIS? So backtracking to the basics in this post:
Who: Me, Cindy Lou Who…I mean Chau–Knives Chau
What: Going to serve with other awesome young adults and partnering with existing long-term missionaries to shower love on others in various ways whether it be working in orphanages, teaching English, hanging out with prostitutes, embracing the lumberjack life, etc etc
Where: The following 11 countries (subject to change): Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania
When: January – November 2015
Why: So many reasons! Please refer to all my other blog posts or use the contact form (or just let me know) so I can send along my support letter to you!
How: I’ve prayed, applied, interviewed, accepted, and have started preparing and fundraising. Adventures in Missions, the organization that oversees the World Race, provides a lot of guidance and support. In order to do this, I need to raise $16,243 by July 1, 2015 but preferably before I leave in January. You can donate online through the “Donate Now” link. The deadlines are below:
September 26, 2014 – $3500 (Online donations must be submitted by September 23 and checks must be mailed by September 12. There’s currently a challenge to meet this deadline by September 12 but considering how late I started fundraising, only a miracle from God can get me there by that date 😉 )
December 19, 2014 – $7500 (Online donations must be submitted by December 16 and checks must be mailed by December 5.)
April 1, 2015 – $11,000
July 1, 2015 – $16,243
