So a quick update on where I am, how I got here, and what we are doing this month.
Left KC Tuesday Sept. 4th at about 845pm on the overnight bus to Chicago…little did I know it was pre-race training! I didn’t think to get my jacket out of my bag before loading the bus and my bag was placed beneath the bus. Dumb. I froze my booty off all night. Note to self: when traveling on planes, buses, etc that have aircon, get your jacket or blanket or something out!
So upon arriving to Chicago at 745am on very little sleep, carrying my large pack, daypack, pillow, and extra daypack filled with things for fellow squad mates…I was struggling. I was being broken before even arriving to Launch. I finally found a Starbucks and quickly found a quiet corner in the back where I would remain for a few hours til I was ready to meet an old friend for lunch. While listening to worship music, writing thank you’s, journaling and enjoying some Jesus time, I met a young man who I got to talk to for a good while about God. So encouraging. I was now ready to handle a bit more of the day ahead. So Brian and Mike, two great old friends from college called and I was able to meet them both for lunch! Such a great addition to my day. It had been so long since I had seen either of them and it was so nice just to catch up on life. I am so thankful for friendships that last like that.
After lunch, I caught the blue line to O’Hare, got a shuttle, and finally arrived at the hotel just in time to get my room key and then head into the session to be reunited with my K-Squad fam! Man, it was awesome. Hugs like crazy from everyone! One of the guys even crouched down to hide behind another teammate, then jumped out, picked me up, spun me around and gave me a big hug! That’s a heck of a welcome! I had definitely missed these crazy wonderful people, and it felt so nice to be reunited with them. “Reunited and it feels so good!” haha.
Launch…Oh launch. Rocked my world like training camp but on a shorter smaller scale…loved it.
Team Braveheart ready to go!

So Launch lasted for like 3 days and then we left for the airport at 11am Saturday, flight leaving at 330pm for Hong Kong. After a long 15 hour flight, we arrived at Hong Kong airport for about a 5 hour layover before another 5 hour flight to Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. From there we took a 30 min train to where we could catch a 6 hour bus ride to Kuala Krai, Kelantan, Malaysia. We arrived into town about 430pm Monday September 10th.

Our ministry contact this month is Pastor Yesudason. Love him! He runs Immanuel Missions Center here where he has a church, does house visits where he prays for and shares the gospel to many Tamil Indian unbelievers, does childrens ministry, tutoring, and is also building a rather large building for a variety of activities all on faith that God will fill it. His faith is incredible. The majority of his ministry is with unbelievers and He is so faithful in prayer and pursuit. His little red van is known all over the area, cause he is always on the move. His wife Teresa is one of the sweetest women alive. Huge servant heart. We just love them both. Couldn't ask for a better first contact!
