One
night during worship, as I was taking a break from my own worship
experience to observe those around me, I sensed that this coming year
I am going to experience fellowship with believers who love and know
the Lord more passionately than I have ever experienced or witnessed.
Clemson served as preparation for truly knowing love deeper and truer
than I’ve ever known or dreamed, a love that frees. (This, by the
way, is crazy, because I thought the worship I experienced with
fellow believers there was deeper than I had ever experienced and
couldn’t fathom anything greater!) I sensed the Lord telling me that
He was, is, about to take me into a romance more intense than I ever
dreamed or thought possible…which got me incredibly excited!
Later
that evening, I had a vision (which, in all honesty, may have been
spurred by some of the words in another song we sang during worship).
I envisioned standing on the ocean shores, God’s glory around me,
filling the air, reflecting off the water, rejoicing all around…the
best way I can describe it to you (which you may laugh at, but I’m
still going to share it, because the Lord speaks in a variety of
ways!) is by comparing it to the joyful scene at the end of Disney’s
“The Little Mermaid movie, when Ariel runs out of the water into
Eric’s arms. The worship experience that night was the start of me
being immersed in God’s love over the coming year and throughout the
rest of my life. At the end, I will come out full and rejoicing in
and with Him for eternity!
Your
mercy, oh Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the
clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your
judgments are a great deep; oh Lord, You preserve man and beast.
— Psalm 36:5-6
