Our team crossed the countries border leaving Costa Rica behind and welcoming Nicaragua with open arms. Currently i'm in the city of Granada. It is beautiful here. The city is known for it's tourism, the archeticutre of the buildings is breathtaking and just the spirit of the entire city is truely amazing. Our entire squad (all 50 of us) are staying in a hostel. While here we are spending a few days in debrief, pouring into ourselves so we can pour into others. It's been really good for our squad unity because our attitudes and the community amongst our teams affect the people we meet. One thing i learned these last few days is that every single person changes the world. That's a big deal! We are all world changers. If you think about it every action you make has a reaction and another reaction which continues forever. It's a ripple effect and i decided that even though I'm not at my ministry site yet i was going to start a new ripple within the city of Granada. One day myself and 3 others went to a local park we just prayed that God would show us someone to talk to. We split up into groups of two and began to walk. We walked into a gazebo and there was a young Nicaragan girl sitting there. The teammate I was with speaks spanish and she helped translate for me. We just sat down beside her and asked her how she was doing. She began to completly open up to us. She told us she was 20 years old, expecting twins soon and that one of the twins had actually turned inside her. She was very nervous for the delivery and to make things worse her husband had just left her a week ago. She came to the park that day to escape from it all. We only spent about 40 minutes talking to her, but as she walked away from us that day in the park, she had a new hope. We told her we completly understand, that life can be extreamly hard sometimes but as Christians we have the hope and promise in Christ's salvation. That she was a daughter of the King and that He loves her more than she can even imagine. The ripple we started that day has just begun who knows the lives this women will touch.
Your changing the world right now if you know it or not. I urge you wherever your at in life to start a new ripple and live in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us.
