Meet Ana Maria.
She’s 4.
She lives next door with her Momma and siblings.
She’s the first person I met at the village.
Her little black eyes are so full of joy.
Her voice is sweet – she’s a little songbird.
She sings with all her might. I like that about her.
She’s a little powerhouse.
Full of spunk and compassion – she totes her little brother “little man” around.
Always fashionably sporting her tattered clothes.
Always laughing with her whole heart.
She loves hanging around all the “Azungus”,
And yells “Mama!!!” when you spin her real fast.
I love to sing her name to the tune of “Ave Maria”.
Her friends always giggle at this.
She smiles – and hums along with me.
She has an ear for music – a heart overflowing with songs of deliverance.
She’s full of strength and an influence to the other little girls in the village.
Obedient. Sometimes quiet. Considerate.
Ana Maria is a gem.
I love this little girl.
I love her curiosity.
I love her laughter.
I love her giant smile.
I love hearing Jesus sing through her to the other children.
She’s absolutely stunning.
I know she will grow strong in the Lord and be a carrier of God’s truth, grace + freedom where ever she goes. The way this little girl loves has made our month here in Mozambique worth it.
