I love that the Lord delights in His children in the most simple  + creative of ways.
My favorite season since I was a little girl has been fall or autumn.
From the days of gathering pumpkins from the local farmer’s patch – to hayrides with the local church.
Scarecrow assembling in the yard – as we raked piles of leaves for hours of fun.
Yellows, oranges, reds, greens, and bright colors all around…
Candy corn + pumpkin seeds, scarfs, sweaters, and crinkled leaves.

The scent of nearby chimneys lingers in the air…the frost of my breath and the warmth of the sun.
Soccer games abound – friends and family all around.
Lots of walks, lots of talks, the park is full of fun.
Hiking, biking, and mountain picnics are all a must.
Racing to see who can catch leaves as they fall…5ks, car rides + curling in blankets to watch the stars.
Hot chocolate, wool socks, and don’t forget the start of school.
Memory, after memory – all dance about in my mind…when I think of fall, I can’t help but rejoice in it all!

This season is a little different…I’m pretty far from ‘home’ – but home is where my heart is…
and the Lord is making new memories as I just look and see where He is.
This is my first fall not starting school in 19 years.
This is the first fall where I will not pick a pumpkin and carve it just to eat the seeds.
Yet – surprises hang all about – as I walk the roads of Sluknov + Varnsdorf.
The leaves are changing – the air is chilling – the mittens, scarf, and multiple layers of clothes are out.
An early evening sunset – with colors all about – the crisp hint of season’s change lingers in the air.
This beautiful European countryside – has found a place in my heart to abide…

This morning I went walking with my teammate Aubrie – we wandered out onto a beautiful country road
enjoying the sunshine, changing leaves, and wildlife all around.
Hills clad in trees and deer prancing in the field, a cute old Czech man picking apples with a stick…
Horses and barnyards were what  we could see…but one thought stood out above all the rest
– perhaps the best thought of all…
“You know…the Lord loves me…and He knows I love the fall..He changed these leaves just for me!
Ooh how I love the fall!”
