Today we went to went to Maun Prison in downtown Maun. To be honest, I really wasn’t exactly excited to be going. But soon after arriving at the prison that changed. After the sermon was over we opened up the floor to prayers. The five prisioners that had accepted God as their Lord and Savior today were the first to come forward for prayer.

This week we teamed up as we prayed for the prisioners. So Tamara and I joined together and began praying. After three men came forward, I turned around thinking that we were done. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong. There was a line of prisoners waiting for prayer! I couldn’t believe it! These men came forward, positive that God was going to deliever them from whatever they were struggling with. The faith that some of these prisoners had blew me away.

After at least 30 minutes of prayer, the crowds frizzled down and the prisoners circled up. They all began to worship God! Soon they were all dancing and singing in a circle. One by one they pulled us into the circle. I can honestly say – it really was fun. These prisoners should have been men with no hope, beaten down by life but instead they were full of hope. Everyone of them had huge smiles on their faces! I would have forgotten that I was in a prison if it hadn’t have been for the orange uniforms and the large fences. It goes to show you, the Spirit of God can move anywhere.
