I was told when I started the World Race that my feet would never be the same again. And now I can see why they said that! My feet are in the worse shape of my life! They hurt a lot of the time due to the cracks, blisters and raw spots (not to mention all the things that have poked into my feet and caused bleeding through the soles of my Crocs).
When we came to Botswana, we were told that a local lady, Miriam, likes to give pedicures and actually prefers American dollars. So the majority of our team jumped on this opportunity! (We can’t even exchange our American dollars – we’re charged way too much!) Miriam actually went to nine months of schooling for manicures and pedicures. I was impressed!
So anyways, I would like to say ‘Thank You’ to Miriam for taking time out of her day to help restore our very sad looking tootsies! Although none of us kept our feet clean very long due to all the sand they still looked a whole lot better!
