Some believe miracles don’t happen anymore. Others think they only happen overseas on mission trips. Still, others believe a person must have the gift of healing in order to be used to heal someone. The truth is, we all have the gift of healing. Jesus said in Mark 16, “These signs WILL accompany those who believe… They will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Jesus didn’t say healing might happen, he said it would happen. Miracles happen here in the USA, even while you’re living from 9-5. The same Power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. Again, the same Power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.
Last Monday, I was driving to meet my squad mate Kyle for a cup of coffee at SPERO Coffee in Knoxville (check it out, seriously). As I was merging onto the interstate, I saw a hitchhiker. I always pray and ask for the Holy Spirit to direct me, and until this point, He had always told me to keep driving. I passed her up and I felt the Holy Spirit tell me to go back and pick her up, so I did. After she got in, I began to ask questions. She said she was on her way to Asheville to take wholistic (natural healing) classes. She’s very spiritual, but doesn’t know Jesus yet. We were having a great conversation and I told her about Jesus and the Race. She seemed intrigued.
As I got off the exit, I asked if she would like to join me and my friends for coffee. She said yes and good conversations continued.
When I was taking her back to the truck stop, I asked if I could pray for her. I also asked if she had any pain or illness. She replied by saying she had back pain and haven’t been able to sleep lately because of it. Somehow, I immediately knew what Papa had in mind. I pulled the car over, got out, and began to pray as the Holy Spirit led me. She was instantly healed! Before, she couldn’t lift her left arm above her head. After I prayed, she had full mobility. She was shocked. I only prayed for a minute or two. I told her that the reason she had been healed was because Jesus loves her. I do not believe it is a coincidence that she was literally on her way to learn how to heal people and found healing herself through Jesus. I spoke over her that she would meet Jesus and be used by Him to heal others just as she had been healed. I strongly believe this will happen. This is not the only story I could tell. I have been blessed to witness a minimum of six people find physical healing within the last month, and many, many more find spiritual and emotional healing. Im not even on the field yet! God loves those He created and wants to heal them in every way. Not only does He want them to be healed, but also use them to heal. That includes you. Seek things of this nature, listen to His voice and obey. It will be uncomfortable and there will be times when your faith fails, but do not be discouraged. God told his disciples to pray and fast about such matters so their faith would be increased. Even when you pray with no success, God will use it to glorify Himself and there is no better joy on earth. We have been healed by the Blood of The Lord Jesus Christ. “Freely you have received; freely give.” Matthew 10:8b
