So I know that this blog is not the blog most might expect, put the more that we hear around the world, of the bombings in Boston to those martyred in Egypt, to things closer to home.
As Christians I ask what should be our reaction to these situations.
The bomber was just captured in Boston, and we cheered. I hear that fireworks were going off all over the us. But should we really be celebrating that the enemy has such a strong hold on this man’s heart that instead of praying for him we cheer that he is now in jail, and let’s be honest we live in the land of the constitution, but this man we he won’t have a trial that is innocent till proven guilty. Search your heart right now, where do you really stand not what would you say to your friends but what does your heart say, if I was to ask myself the same question before the race I would say yea he is guilty, yet now all I do is pray for him, for he is a lost soul just like you and I were, before God changed it all.
Then we continue say he does become a Christian and God sets him free, in his heart then after a while the he would get out of jail, if you saw him on the street how would you treat him, even if you knew that he was a Brother, would you take him and love him would you provide him with a meal, when everyone else hates him, would you take him into your house. Well what if God asked you to do those things to a man that killed. Well look at yourself right now. Look deep in a mirror. What do you see?
Do you see a free person that is blameless, or do you see grace that has covered you to make yourself blameless. If you think about it, we are no worse than this young man. No I’m not condoning what he did. But you know what we have done the same thing, we killed Jesus did we not, I killed him with my own hands, I sinned and killed him. Just as all have done the same. Would you take me, your brother in even if you knew that I killed. Cause I sinned and have fallen short of glory and yet the person that I killed chose to save me anyway, he chose to love me, he chose to forgive me of all that I did, he still choses to forgive me. And you know what he says in John 14 that he goes to prepare a place for us. No ask yourself who else would do that even after we had killed them. Would you take in to your home a murderer?
So as you go off to church on Sunday or you do your next devotional seek your heart and ask, are you really following God, and Jesus or are you picking the religion you like.
For we have all sinned and God chose us still to be a part of his work, and he has given us eternal life in him, for He so loved us.
I leave you with this prayer,
Father, I ask that you use this blog to speak to hearts, that you change the way that we look at people around us, not the labels of their past but there identity in you for we are all your sons and daughters, I pray that through the blogs that are put up on the World Race page that you light this world of ours on fire, and that we don’t think the same way but we pray, that we walk in unison with the Spirit and with other in the Spirit, For father your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven. I believe that you will use this blog to bring people to you, father, I believe that your will is greater than all things and that while we see the pain of this world that we will unite as sons and daughters of the King and you will reign even more on this earth and in America. Father bring healing to the hearts and bodies of all those effected in the bombing, and forgive the people that did this, father for they have done nothing more than I have done and you love me still.
I pray all this in your son’s Name.
Amen.
