The big questions are Who? What? When? Where? Why? And How?

Well I’ve answered the Who? Since that’s me (see the About Me page).

I’ve answered the What?

A 11 months Mission trip (see the first blog).

The when?

Its kinda obvious September 2012 to August 2013

And the why? And the How?

Well that is what this blog is focused on, The Why of this trip and How I got to it.

Lets start with the How, how I got here.  I’d felt the call to the missions starting around 12 years old. Its kinda a little odd,  my favorite animal is the Rhino, well actually it’s the Sumatran Rhino (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis) a species that actually has hair and is found in Sumatra and Borneo. That got me thinking  about Indonesia and as I thought about those distant lands that’s when I started feeling called to missions by God. Well for years I thought about it while working to my goal of college. But I fell away from God and stopped going to church. I turned away from God and the call to missions. But God did not forget me.

In the last year mainly in the last few months I started falling for God fast. One day I started feeling that I needed to start praying and I prayed for over an hour.  At the time I was struggling with the fact that I was graduating in about 2 months and had no plan for what was going to happen after that.  While praying I got the growing feeling that I needed to search the phrase “World Race.” The first link on Google was .theworldrace.org/.  So I started praying about it over the next few days. I was praying and felt called to the World Race. I then told my dad and then the next weekend I was home I told Mom,  this was the hard sell. But they’ve been supportive, after a time. And so I started the application process. And that’s how I ended up coming to the race.

The why? I Love God with all my heart. Having been called to missions and finally deciding on following that call, I found the World Race and while I won’t be in one place, that was one of the things that I like about the race cause I will get to experience a little bit of many different types of service in God’s world. I hope this will be a great trip, that will allow me to grow closer to God than I ever have been In my life. I’ve struggled with a lot over the years but the one thing I know is that God will always be there for me and when I listen to him I will be given all that I need and much more than that. God Loves all and that he will provide for me.
