Fear is something that haunts everyone at one point or another. In the Bible there are countless times that God says, “Fear not” or rather instead of fearing man or circumstances to fear God alone.

“…fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  –Isaiah 41:10

So close to the Race being over there are so many unknowns and it is easy to fall into the trap of being afraid of the future or afraid that somehow the Race didn’t change you or afraid that you’re not going to meet the expectations of those around you or afraid that you didn’t make an impact at all, etc.

During one of the team times here in Cambodia we had time to reflect and talk to God and I heard Him tell me to be unafraid.

To be unafraid of failure.

– Failure isn’t the end, it is the beginning because it is better to be bold and courageous

To be unafraid of trying new things.

– Whether it is leading, preaching or learning something new it is good to at least try

To be unafraid of getting dirty.

– In some areas you will encounter dirty children and hugging them and showing them love is more important than clean clothes or smelling bad

To be unafraid of stepping out my comfort zone

– It can be simple to be part of the ministry you enjoy or know you can do, but it’s OK to get involved in places where you don’t know much

To be unafraid of showing weakness.

– Your team loves you and supports you and most of the time it is in the weaknesses that we find strength

– Vulnerability can be hard, but we have nothing to fear because we trust in God’s love and He created us fearfully and wonderfully
