It just so happened that Valentine’s Day landed in a month where the entire squad is together and I’m glad it did.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t bring any negative feelings per se, but everyday should be a day to celebrate love and not be so commercialized…

So normally, I don’t really do anything for V-Day or care much for the day…

The men of N Squad decided to bless the women with really sweet things though for Valentine’s Day and I do really appreciate them for it.

The morning started off with the men preparing snickers and gummy bears for the women at breakfast along with normal breakfast and serving the women with drinks and having a sweet note for each person.

The men made dinner for the women and also gave each of us a red rose. It really was the cutest set-up ever…

For appetizers there was bread with garlic/balsamic vinegar dip and it was delicious!

Main course was stuffed chicken and noodles…serious deliciousness…

Dessert was a brownie a la mode…sooo good!!

Then the men entertained us with Whose Line is Anyway type games…first was the one where one person is the host of the party and they need to guess who their guests are…oh man..busted up laughing…sooo great!

2nd game was where they make up a story and it was pretty funny too πŸ˜€

3rd and last game was where all the women wrote lines/phrases on pieces of paper and the guys put them in their pockets and during their scene they would randomly insert whatever was written on the slip of paper…oh my goodness…the best ever…

Lastly, the guys each read a promise to all the women on how they will love us and I almost cried because it was so sweet…

I really love the men of N Squad and am so incredibly grateful for them. Even though my team is an all women team and I don't know the guys that well yet, these last couiple of weeks have been great in getting to know them and seeing their hearts for God. I also received sweet notes from my team too πŸ™‚

Bottom line…best V-day ever! πŸ˜€

During feedback one night, Cherissa talked about love too and we looked at 1 Corinthians 13 and…

"Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us." – 1 John 4:11-12

Then we made promises to each other on how we can love each other more…it was so touching and I honestly love my team mucho mucho! <3

Our ministry this past week was with Brenda and her classroom at the day care along with her community ministries πŸ™‚ It was so much fun and she is amazing with the kids and great to work with! πŸ˜€ Also, we got to work with the Courtney and Marion (interns at Inca Link)

We got the opportunity to be the first team to go to this new community that Brenda has been wanting to go to and the turn out was the better than I think any of us could have anticipated…God is definitely working and doing great things!

The Victor Raul community that we live in was fun to work with too…the kids are all really adorable πŸ™‚

Working with the kids at the daycare was great too and even though we were warned they were naughty it actually turned out to be not that bad at all and the kids were amazing and super smart. There was one kid named, Jordan, and he was so eager to learn English and learned it really fast!

So yea overall a great week and definitely more relaxing than the previous week in terms of physical exertion…and we got to do arts and crafts which is always fun.

Marion also wrote me a card and she wrote, "Remember that having a good heart that is full of love for God and other people is the most important thing you can have. Men look at the outside, but God looks at the heart."

Tons of truth in this…

"So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
– 1 Corinthians 13:13

Time has flown…1 more full week here in Trujillo and then onto Lima and then onto Bolivia!
