Hey everyone! Sorry it’s been sooooo long.
So here is a quick update: I’ve been back in America for just over 6 months now. How was my readjustment back to American life? Well here are a few short funny stories:
- I was helping my mom put up the Christmas tree shortly after arriving back home and I stopped and got really excited (way too excited) and pointed out the window and kept telling my mom to look. I saw something amazing! …It was a squirrel…yes I was seriously excited about it. I hadn’t seen one in over a year. I was used to seeing monkeys not squirrels.
- trying to figure out how much something is in dollars…getting frustrated because I don’t know the conversion rate… then realizing minutes later I’m in America so the price is in dollars…
- Being able to flush toilet paper – also automatic toilets freaked me out first time back in America.
- itching to travel again after being in a place for a month
- freaking out over seeing the first mosquito of the year to later remember that these are malaria free!
For the most part transition has been easier than I thought it would have been.
So what am I doing now? I have moved back to Birmingham AL where I am working with the Birmingham Prayer Furnace. Our goal at the Birmingham Prayer Furnace is to create a culture of prayer and worship 24/7 in the city Birmingham and the state of Alabama. We are also involved in justice issues. Some of the things that we are passionate about and want to see an end to is Abortion, Human Trafficking, Sexual Exploitation, racial injustices, division in the body of Christ, etc.
If you would like to keep up with what I’m doing, what the Birmingham Prayer Furnace is doing, or how you can help then check out my new blog! I’m going to try and do better about blogging (pray that I do!).

Thanks everyone for helping me have such an incredible and indescribable year! I’m so excited to see what God has in store for me in this next chapter of my life!
