Three hours in the bed of a truck
What more could a girl ask for?
Sun on my face, wind in my hair,
And scenery only God could create.
My senses thrive.
Driving through the hilly roads,
In and out of mountains.
I hear nothing but the wind.
Nothing.
The spirit whispers sweet lullabies to me;
He cradles me like a baby.
I feel Him.
He loves me.
He loves me enough to put this land before my eyes.
I think about my family.
Oh, what I would do to have them here by my side.
This place takes my breath away.
This place would take their breath away.
Thank you for this land;
It screams Your Name!
The water engulfs me.
The salt makes known its presence;
My wounds are healed.
The salt keeps me afloat.
Oh, how my body misses warm water.
The ocean draws me in
I move effortlessly.
The waves relax me;
Up and down, up and down.
I am filled with joy.
It comes from You.
I praise your name.
You send the rains down.
You fill our stomachs with good food.
We bless your name.
We run in the rain;
Into the vast open waters.
We lift our hands up and laugh.
Joy.
You paint a picture in the sky,
One only you could paint.
We admire your work.
The warm water surrounds us while the cold rain falls.
You love us so much.
You paint pictures for us daily.
Millions of pictures.
Your work is majestic.
We hop in the truck and we settle in.
It’s a long cold ride back home.
We shiver and shake.
The rain stings our face.
You’re my only hope for warmth.
I seek your face.
I ask and you answer.
You always answer.
You’re always listening.
Suddenly I am warm.
I am warm because You are with me.
