“The thief comes only to Steal, Kill, and Destroy. I have come that they may have Life and have it abundantly.
Since the first earthquake in Nepal, on April 25, 2015, much news has reached around the globe of the pain the people here are experiencing. There are visuals of crumpled buildings, people living in tent cities, and trucks going through out the country delivering assistance by means of people, food, and water. Relief is coming, and the people are eagerly accepting it all graciously. I even walked past an earthquake and disaster preparation class, held to teach children what to do, when a disaster comes again.
But, in the goodness of all that has come from this historically defining disaster for this country, there are horrible things going on in this country that need your prayers!
The Guardian an online newspaper, reported that 10,000 to 15,000 girls are trafficked out of Nepal every year. Then continued on saying that due to the recent events of the relief efforts due to the earthquake, people are acting as relief workers and are going into village towns, taking girls from their homes with offers of relief and jobs in other places. This was pulled from the news article, ” Senior western aid officials in the Nepalese capital are also concerned. “There is nothing like an emergency when there is chaos for opportunities to … traffic more women. There is a great chance that everything that is bad happening in Nepal could scale up,” said one.” This is happening throughout this country, these people are visibly hurting and in the chaos girls are being stolen from their homes to be placed into a life of constant terror!
Last month’s quake killed more than 3,000 people in Sindhupalchok, and left hundreds of thousands homeless. Which is the village we were in when the second earthquake hit killing and injuring more. Before we had arrived to Nepal, their were already reports in the newspaper on the plane of 5 women being rescued by the Nepali Military and returning them home before their capturers could get them out of the country!
There are days of great peace, where you can almost forget about the disaster that occurred in this beautiful country! But their is still chaos happening, people hurting and distracted from the comforts of the norm. Their are people being deceived into human trafficking through false expectation.
Please PRAY for the safety of the women and children here to be protected in this time and that they would sleep at peace surrounded by the love of their family! But, the enemy is present here in Nepal and throughout the world to steal our peace, kill our faith and destroy our hope so we don’t look toward our Victorious KING!
