We made it to the town of Cuenca for the second week our first month. We felt that the Lord was bringing us here for big things! When we got here we were weary after a 10hr bus ride and one of our team mates were very sick! This picture was from our first day venturing out into the city and we discovered during a walk this beautiful river! It was a warm day and it was lovely to just walk about in the river!
During our second day in Cuenca we went out to the mountains called the Cajas. In the picture below we were in the Lower Cajas with Lori Leek, Whom is so graciously housing us along with her fabulous family and Dayna one of the possible ministry partners here in Cuenca! This was such a wonderful day out in the mountains and enjoying God’s creation!
Today we took a bus up to an area of town called Turi, It provided us with a breath taking view of this gorgeous city. Our team took this opportunity to pray over the city and what God has at hand for His Kingdom through this city! During this time I felt very ill and began getting sharp pains in my neck, which was quite discouraging! Over this past couple of weeks I have has some problems with my eyes, and had to visit an eye Dr on Monday. The Dr. told me I had an infection in both eye and something else in my left eye! The Dr. then prescribed 2 eye drops to be taken 5 times a day and a gel to be used 3 times a day ( I hate eye drops ALOT!) I didn’t want to believe it was bothering me or effecting my spirits being on this trip, but then today sitting at Turi praying and feeling the illness seep back over my body, i just cried as my team mate Lauryn prayed over me! In my frustration she just told me to trust the Lord and so I did! Then we took the bus back down the hill and I felt so much better, I mean my eye still feels weird but all in all it is healing, I am trusting the Lord and I am learning not to hate eye drops!
As we returned to the house to refocus on the administrative side of Unsung Heroes, great things began unfolding and meetings were being set up! The excitement level of our team is rising and God is setting a great precedence of what He wants done in this area of Ecuador!
Love y’all and thank y’all for keeping up with my journey!
