We are down to just day, things are winding down and goodbyes / farewells are becoming more common. The urge to pack my back is becoming stronger and stronger in the fear I won’t have all that I need before i leave to head to Atlanta for Training in January before we head out! The main questions that are presented before me from my inquisitive co-workers and friends, ” are you scared”, ” are you ready”, and my favorite, ” are you crazy”! I feel in order to do the World Race if you are not a bit scared and very ready it is going to a shock to your system! But, crazy, considering I work in a psychiatric treatment center I would just alter the term a bit to state, I am eager for an adventure of a lifetime!
I have found a consensus between squad mates of and hard season since returning from training camp! There are often text messages, Facebook post, and pictures posted requesting extra prayer for family, funding, and spiritual battles going on! I feel our squad is being refined immensely before we ever make it out on the race, which only brings me to the thought that God is preparing and equipping us for great things this next year… and we will be ready!
In reaching my our next financial deadline, I was a month out and starting to become quite concerned I was not going to get my funds in time! Just at the moment anxieties began to really rise opportunities and funds began flooding in! My father gave a huge sacrifice and at christmas time of which I am so thankful for! My dad is not a huge supporter of the race but still gave! Then I went to speak in front of my mom’s sunday school class, The Ladies Young at Heart, which these ladies have been huge supporters spiritually for years in my life so I felt great joy for them to know about the race in order to pray for me and my squad! These ladies each sacrificially gave and pushed me into being funded for launch! On top of that the day I was speaking, the teacher asked me to meet a special guest of theirs Andy Horner, she told me he and his wife were passionate about missions! After I met them the sunday school teacher introduced them to the class at the founder of Premier Jewelry!! They were so supportive of the race and sent me a wonderful donation! It is so incredible to see how God is intricately working all of the details out for finances, and really everything to make this trip possible!
In all of these adventures and days before I leave I truly need your prayers and so will my squad! Thank you for keeping up with my journey and I pray you have a very merry christmas and a sweet season with your family and friends!
I love you all!
Christina
