This month I have hardly been able to catch my breath. Every day we are doing new and exciting things in ministry, most of the time with thirteen little Indian girls attached to our hands, hips and elbows. If I never mentioned it before, I am sleeping, eating, and doing life with thirteen lovely and equally unique Indian girls, two house mamas, and one crazy dog named Brownie. Also on a weekly basis we get together with the other guys and gals at the other two orphanages.

Okay so this is what has been up the last week…

We started it off with the massive community event Grace Ministries put on, where approximately 5000 people attended a free community event eating insane amounts of cotton candy and Malaysian style hamburgers. There were also many vendors; donated book vendors, clothing vendors, and more food vendors. Inside the building our ministry set up more free services to the public like free eye testing, and medical seminars for community seniors. The girls and I worked a few different food stations and passed out flyers for Rumah Kids. We were there from 2:30 in the afternoon until 11:00 at night and it was worth every hour. The best part though was the awesomely cool talent show at night where people were able to show off their gifts God gave them; including an Asian Elvis Presley impersonator. Classic. This week we also taught our 40 kids two performance ready Christmas carols, accompanied with actions, and homemade masks which they performed at a charity dinner we attended. And lastly today my team and I spent the whole day packing 300 food bags for single families in the area and bagging dozens of donated clothes to freely distribute to those in need.

Perhaps though one of the most unforgettable moments though happened over lunch during set up and dress rehearsals for the community event. My team and I were taken out for lunch by some of the main ladies that operate the events at Grace Ministries. We all shared our short testimonies and major life events where we saw God move in major ways. Then we talked about the spiritual climate in our churches, cities and countries. What they told us, blew me away and my heart ached. Malaysia is not a free country when it comes to spiritual beliefs. Although there are many religions that coexist in the country, it is ruled predominately by Muslims. In fact it is illegal to witness and share your Christian beliefs to Muslims and indigenous people. We’ve heard different stories on this fact but what we do know is that a Christian can be thrown into jail indefinitely if they freely talk about Jesus to someone who doesn’t want to hear it. Both ladies knew of a man that this has happened too, and according to them you’re not just jailed, your tortured; a government choice that is still operated under the WW11 Act. I haven’t looked any of this up nor researched, I’m only going off of personal stories of those that live here, but more often those are the true stories. It’s hard to be a Christian here, and it’s even harder to be a Christian organization. Our contacts and the people who help and work for this ministry are absolutely amazing. They work hard every day for the Kingdom despite cultural and legal discrimination and persecution and every one of them are guided by the Holy Spirit. I am so blessed to have been placed here, exactly where God called us on this Race and support this ministry in any way we can.

If you would like to help keep me here and on this Race, I have $1076 USD left to raise to go on to the next 5 countries, and 8 days left. Please click the ‘Support Me’ tab on my blog site on the left hand side. Thank-you immensely for supporting me, and the ministries in which we volunteer.
