Now that I've finished my African hiatus from blogging, I've realized that now that I'm in India it is time to reconvene with all of you!

Oh Africa. How I love thee…yet how anxious I was to leave thee…

After three of the most eye-opening, faith-testing, and culture-shocking months on the race, my team has officially said goodbye to the beautiful continent of Africa. As much as I loved it, we were all pretty ready to get back to civilization.

If I had one word to describe each month I would say…

Kenya: CHALLENGING

Uganda: WILD

Tanzania: REVOLUTIONARY

Each month certainly had its perks; like  gaining godly wisdom from our contact Pastor Moses and his incredible family in Kenya, or our meetings with the spiritual leaders at Christ Ambassadors Church in Uganda. Oh yes, and how could I ever forget sharing the gospel to unreached people groups during our 9 days in the bush of Tanzania?

It would be impossible for me to pack into one blog all that happened in Uganda and Tanzania, the two countries I neglected to blog in. Therefore, I will write out the bullet points for our time in Uganda and then explain why our month in Tanzania changed me forever.

First stop: Uganda

Before reading further I ask that you please watch the video below that I made to highlight our wild experience in U-FUN-DA (our teams beloved nickname for the country). Despite the poverty and intense spiritual warfare present there, Christ's name was and still is being lifted high in Mukono.

The first half of the month we worked with Pastors Joseph and Frida Kakande and Christ Ambassadors Church. Right next door, on the same property, is their school Champions Christian Academy, where we taught various subjects to children aged 4 to about 18. We were more than blessed to be with such incredible contacts. Pastor Joseph is soft spoken, humble and full of love for the children. Frida is wildly passionate about people, hilarious and quite the business woman. They are a dynamic duo for sure.

Dimple David…that smile was infectious.

I'd yet to meet such a strong leadership team around a ministry until coming to their church in Uganda. I was so impressed with how diligent they shepherded the people of their church. We had the opportunity to do bible studies, have meetings with the church leaders, preach at various churches, do door-to-door evangelism, and spend quality time with church members.

The second half of the month we moved to our second contact which was only right down the street but an entirely different ministry. While of course, evangelism is the main ministry in Africa, we also spoke to large groups of young adults, went to my second African wedding, shared the gospel at a rock quarry and poured into Pastor Sarah's family. My favorite of all the days had to be when we visited Elizabeth Home, an organization that takes care of the neglected special needs children of the Mukono area. Oh, how my heart rejoiced when around them! They all were so full of life and the joy of the Holy Spirit!

The beautiful cooks and house ladies that we fell in love with at Pastor Sarah's.

Malaria Blues…in bed for a few days.

With my love at the Elizabeth Home!

Saying goodbye to our Ugandan loves…

Our time in Uganda was unforgettable. After all of our time in ministry we were able to spend 3 days in Jinja, Uganda where we rafted the Nile River and bungee jumped directly into it (as shown in the video)!!! The experiences proved to be two of the biggest thrills of my life.

Next stop: Tanzania…
