I’m Christina.

And I am exhilarated to be able to share with you a bit about myself and what’s in store for this coming year!

Welcome to my blog where I will be regularly updating the happenings of my life, primarily as I begin gearing up for the World Race, starting in September 2015. The World Race is a journey to 11 countries in 11 months during which my team and I will serve others and experience community together. This is an intense discipleship program that aims to help young adults be stretched beyond their comfort zones and experience the Kingdom of God in a genuine way. While in each country, my team will be partnering with local churches and communities to preach the gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, and much more as we bring God’s love to many different tribes and nations. This will give me many opportunities to grow and be stretched in my faith. More information about my particular route can be found here.

I look forward to the next months as I prepare for the race and keep you in the loop of what’s going on.

A Bit About Me…

I’ve lived in and was raised in multiple countries, starting in and currently including lovely Canada. My family moved to Venezuela in South America when I was just a young firecracker and I spent 7 of my formative years exploring and loving Venezuela while my parents served as missionaries. While living there I was able to spark my passion for music, learning, and most importantly this is where I learned that pictures are no fun unless taken with your mouth wide open (a tradition that is still carried out to this day).

In 2005, my family moved to Colombia, the country right next door to Venezuela, where we lived for 5 years. Here, I made long lasting friendships, polished my volleyball skills, discovered my passion to serve others, and much more. Leaving Colombia midway through high school was tough, but after arriving in Canada in 2010 and settling into the swing of things, this northern nation grew on me.

Since being back in Canada I have graduated from high school and have been working on completing a Bachelor of Religious Education degree in Counselling Studies at Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, Ontario. I will be graduating in April 2015.

Things To Know About Me…

  • I think sarcasm is great – when used properly. But even better than sarcasm are puns, in particular ones that involve animals (: But sometimes people tell me that……

And my response usually tends to be….

  •  Up in Northern Ontario I had the opportunity to go on a few canoe trips and they are awesome!

Contrary to the picture, I really did have a great time – this just happened to be the moment when mosquitoes by the thousands were trying to take my blood. In reality, this particular trip was fantastic, and I really connected with my Canadian roots while on these trips.

  • Hair can at times be used for art – but only at times.

I am grateful for the family God has placed me in to help shape and form me into the person I am today. I love my parents and appreciate the passions God has set in their hearts that brought them into missions and continues to guide them in ministry to this day. My brother is a hoot and has been a close friend throughout my life, encouraging me and always providing healthy competition.

I have always loved a good challenge, and through the simple and the complex trials God has proven faithful time and time again. I look forward to updating you on the progress of preparations for the launch date next September.

Stay tuned as I commence this adventure, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask!
