Well, I gave you all a house tour of where we are living this month. So now I will share what a typical day is like here for us. Before the rundown I have a prayer request. Please pray for our Contact, Andre, who is trying to buy a house. On our morning walk into the city today we found out that funding may fall through and he won’t be able to buy it. Aside from the detrimental situation that would put on him and his family, that would mean that we won’t be doing very much ministry this month as we will be at the Shack all month in a remote location. Prayers please!

Typical Day

5:30am- Wake up to my itouch blaring. Hop over my tent mate, trip over the loose stone of the shack and make my way outside.
5:34am- Wake up my teammate Chuck and anyone else who might want to go into town.
6:00am- Start our 1 mile walk up hill towards the bus stop.
6:03am- Realize we may have forgotten something, go back, realize it’s already in our bag, start walk again.
6:35am- Arrive at the bus stop. Make small talk with 4 other Moldovans with hand signals and gestures.
7:00am- A small Mercedes-Benz circa 1965 comes barreling down the gravel road, looking something like the bus in the Harry Potter Series, Prisoner of Azkaban.
7:02am- Realize there’s only 8 seats and we are cramming 40 people into it. Personal space is non existant.
7:40am- Arrive in the main city. Pay driver the equivilant of 50 cents.
8:00am- Stop at the local store for some pastries for breakfast.
8:01am- Feed all the stray puppies.
8:45am- Complete our 3 mile journey to the internet cafe.
9:00am- Internet cafe opens and we have time to rest here and call home, update blogs, and other business we might need to attend to.
1:00pm- Lunch at the resturant next to the internet location. Meet with men who look like they are in the KGB who offer us a ride back to the bus stop.
2:00pm- Finish meal, accept ride from said KGB looking men, and go to the bus stop.
3:30pm- Bus leaves to go back to our village
4:15pm- Overcrowded bus arrives.
4:30pm- Buy safe water to haul back to our shack.
5:15pm- Arrive “home”.
6:00pm- Cook dinner, usually rice or cereal.
7:00pm- Build fire for warmth
8:00pm- Worship and feedback
10:00pm- Movie on our laptops or bed time.

Repeat.
Sadly, if our contact does not get his house then this will be our schedule for the next month. Not all days are like this but if they don’t look like this then they are spent laying in the hammock or fetching water from the well.

Our ministry has been feeding and petting the stray dogs. Some have met with an old “Babushka” lady who makes them yogurt freshly churned from her cow.

Morning Walk in our village!
