What am I up to now that I have arrived in Moldova? Well, after a sweaty and grusome 16 hour bus ride through corn fields and sketchy pit stops, we made it to debrief.
Debrief is a time where all 56 of us come together and worship, fill each other up, and spend some quiet alone time with God. It was the most amazing time ever!
After 5 days of that our ministry contact for the month came to pick us up. We all squeezed in to this big van but it only had 5 seats…. and there were 7 of us plus 6 big packs. It was interesting.
We are in the region of Ocnita which is right on the Ukrainian boarder.
We pulled up to this cottage which by American standards would be considered a shack. We have limited electricity, no bathrooms and only a well for water. The closest thing in walking distance is a corner store. And by corner store, I mean a tiny room with only your staple foods.
Anyways, we haven’t started ministry yet and we have no idea when we are going to or what it will look like. I took a bath at the well a couple days ago, laid in a hammock a bit, tried my best to keep busy.
Our contact has just bought a new house and is busy preparing it for us. So, we can assume that in less than a weeks time we will be on our way to doing something other than living at the shack.
We made a video of our accommodations. Trying our best to put smiles on in this uncomfortable living situation. Needless to say we are becoming better at being comfortable in uncomfortable settings.
We make our own fun by playing cards, having bonfires and cleaning some of the dishes. Lots of worship and prayer times.
Enjoy the video, sorry, it’s a long one!
