Dear Friends and Family,
I want to personally thank you again for partnering with me prayerfully, financially, and emotionally during my time on World Race. The past year I dedicated my life to working solely for the kingdom of God; I partnered with organizations, befriended churches, and walked alongside long-term missionaries in 11 different countries. I began my World Race journey in pursuit of helping people and was met with the reality of people helping me. I learned how to give myself grace, what it looks like to be obedient to the Lord, and the benefit of living a life of vulnerability through the freedom of Christ. What I had in mind when I left for the race was to give this year to Jesus and then go back to the “rest of my life” when in reality I was taking the first step toward the rest of my life.
I had the opportunity to experience the power of storytelling through photography, videography, and writing. I learned the gift of photography God has given me can be used to further the kingdom of Heaven by sharing what God is doing locally and globally. My heart was broken for younger generations in America who have been told about God their whole lives but rarely get to experience Him personally. God is calling me to share his invitation to the lost and the looking of America into the promise and reality of the kingdom of Heaven through storytelling. This may look like empowering teenage girls with confidence and self-esteem through a photography outlet or it may be sharing personal struggles and successes through documentary film. God has given me authority to love people in a unique and out-of-the-box way in order to influence those who only see Him as a radical stranger.
The next step God is asking me to take is a six-month participation in G42 Leadership Academy in Mijas Pueblo, Spain. God is opening the door to expose me with wisdom and resources that will propel me into creating a ministry of my own. Experienced leaders who have each gone through the process of ministry building teach courses and their mentorship will guide me in my own calling.
God is currently stretching my faith with opportunities to trust in Him more everyday. Coming out of a season of extreme community and into a season of solitude I am learning to put my focus on Him now more than ever. He is a good Father and wants to give his children more gifts than we can imagine. God is teaching me that He is more than just a one-time provider of our needs and that He does indeed have a plan for my life. Please pray that I have the courage to be obedient to the Lord’s plans and that I don’t become too comfortable in my pre-race lifestyle. Pray that I am humble enough to allow the Lord to be my provider and hopeful in His promise.
In order to participate in G42 I must have $3,000 by January 6, 2015 plus an additional $3,000 by June 1, 2015. That is $6,000 total, which pays for course fees and housing. I am also responsible for plane tickets to and from Spain. Please consider partnering with me in prayer, emotional support, and/or financial assistance.
You can donate financially on the web at http://www.g42leadershipacademy.org/donate or by sending a check to G42 P.O. Box 17, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.
God Bless,
Christina Kehres
