In Nepal we were blessed with the opportunity to trek through the Annapurna region of the Himalayan Mountains. In 3 days we hiked up 5,480 feet and over 3,280 stone steps. Our days consisted of passing small Nepali villages, 80 year old Nepalese women strong enough to climb the stairs daily and local men hired to brave 3 Northface packs of European and American “necessities.” Whlie at night we enjoyed hot lemon tea by wood burning furnaces and chats with seasoned Sherpas. The last morning we arose at 4:30 to climb the last 1,000 feet and beat the sunrise. It was the most beautiful experience I’ve had on the race so far and even though I couldn’t feel my legs when we returned to Pokhara I wouldn’t take it back.

Engulfed in the giant mountains God reminded me how big He is and how powerful He made us to be.

We are than conquerors.

We made it!

Hooray for God’s beauty!
