Dear Family and Friends,
I made it safely here to Antigua, Guatemala! We arrived and were greeted by two Adventure in Missions staff members to take us to our hostel. As we drove, I could tell I was going to just love it here! Beautiful, lush green mountains everywhere you look. Our hostel is surrounded by two volcanoes on either side of us. I arrived with the other team leaders for two days of training before the rest of our team arrives. I am so excited to see them! Today Courtney Styres arrived to team up with me and learn about how to juggle the finances this year. We will be living on approx $12 dollars per day. I can already tell I took so much for granted back home. However, I know this hostel is probably on the “nicer” side of living conditions so I am ready to bust out my tent, if I have to, when we leave to different parts of Guatemala with our teams this Saturday. Please be praying for safe travel for the rest of the squad as everyone arrives. All team leaders and financial team members arrived safely! Yea!
We finally met Sean, our other Squad leader. He has been such a blessing to us already. He is mature and has wisdom beyond his years. I can tell God will really use him to challenge and encourage us! Last night we had an amazing, memorable time of prayer together. I feel very blessed to have this time with just us eight to prepare for the year ahead.
This morning I took a little video just to say hi and show you the place where we’re staying. Nothing too fancy and I was whispering b/c people were still sleeping, but if it doesn’t upload know I tried! 🙂 I hope to update you where my team ends up going and what we will be doing as soon as I can.
