This month has been all sorts of wonderful.  The perfect blend of all of life’s amazing elements.  From relaxing by the water to working all morning under the hot Nicaraguan sun.  From cuddling and kisses to running around chasing and screaming after each other.  From being still and waiting for His voice to crying out and praising His name at church.  From sunrise to sunset,I have loved every minute of it.  So what have I been up to all month, besides blabbering about how much I love these kids?  Well journey with me to Ometepe Island and I will show you…

My day begins at 5:20 am (besides the occasional I deserve a break this morning or it’s raining outside).  Throw on my running shorts and shoes and begin my morning run beneath the breathtaking Nicaraguan sunrise that stretches out over the volcano…

I then take a quick shower or jump in the lake and then head to my hammock for my quiet time, daily devotional, and cup of coffee…

8am is breakfast.  Which is always delicious, whether it’s Pancake Tuesday or a traditional Nicaraguan breakfast of rice and beans.

9am our work day begins.  Whether it’s teaching in the school…

Working in the garden…

Helping in the kitchen…

Constructing a home, a garage, or playing with tarantulas…

Or using a machete to cut the grass…

Noontime is lunch…

Then we pray as a group for Cicrin.  For the kids, teens, and workers…

We then have a break, where I either catch up on some reading, write a blog, or hitch hike into town for Internet.  Sometimes by horse drawn wagon…

Next is youth time…

Mondays and Fridays we go to the park..

Tuesdays are lake day…

Wednesday is one on ones…

And Thursday is game day, which always turns into futbol, until we got creative and put on our production of the Good Samaritan “El Buen Samaritano”…

We then admire the day’s beautiful sunset and then head to dinner…

After dinner we have team time and feedback…

We then end the day hanging out with the teens: watching movies with our new best friends
Jimmy and Felix,  or playing mafia, or our favorite girls vs boys futbol which can get pretty intense…

Thursdays is teen night…

Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings we pile in the van and head to church, everyone dressed in their Sunday best…

Saturdays are our days off, where we have had many adventures, even venturing off the island one weekend to San Juan Del Sur…

But no matter what the schedule for the day entailed, it was never short of love and lots and lots of giggles…
