Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) – Hillsong United

You call me out upon the waters

The great unknown where feet may fail

And there I find you in the mystery

In oceans deep

My faith will stand

And I will call upon your name

And keep my eyes above the waves

Whens ocean rise

My soul will rest in your embrace

For I am yours and you are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters

Your sovereign hand

Will be my guide

Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me

You’ve never failed and you won’t start now

So I will call upon your name

And keep my eyes above the waves

When oceans rise

My soul will rest in your embrace

For I am yours and you are mine

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders

Let me walk upon the waters

Wherever you would call me

Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander

And my faith will be made stronger

In the presence of my Savior

I will call upon your name

Keep my eyes above the waves

My soul will rest in your embrace

I am yours and you are mine

I love these lyrics. I am not a huge fan of the actual song..a little too slow for me… but the words are perfect. They are the perfect words for this journey.

“You call me out upon the waters.” That is exactly what God is doing. He is calling me, along with all my squad mates, out across waters. The waters are several oceans we will be traveling over.

“The great unknown where feet may fail.” The ocean is really is a great unknown and feet really do fail there. Except of course for Jesus. His feet don’t fail anywhere.

“And there I find you in the mystery. In oceans deep my faith will stand.” Our faith will stand anywhere. No matter where we are being called. This race may very well be a mystery to all of us. Right now we can’t see what our purpose will be throughout the 11 months that we are in the field. We are following blindly.

“And I will call upon your name, and keep my eyes above the waves. When oceans rise my soul will rest in your embrace. For I am yours and you are mine.” Fundraising, at times, feels like a rising ocean. Sometimes I think about how much I have left to raise. I start to get overwhelmed and feel like I might drown in all that money left. But if I fix my eyes on Him, He will lead me where I am called to go. “Your sovereign hand will be my guide.”

“Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me. You’ve never failed and you won’t start now.” This journey is a little bit scary. Maybe a lotta bit scary. Leaving behind everyone I know for almost an entire year and the fear of not being able to raise the required amount. But He has never failed me and He won’t start now. He will provide.

“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders.” This mission trip doesn’t know borders. We will be traveling around the world. Crossing many country borders and crossing many oceans. Spreading the word of God and love to everyone we meet. When our trust is in Him, there are no borders.

“Let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me.” The World Race is my calling for the next year. I might not literally walk upon the waters, but I am definitely going to fly over them!

“And my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior.” One of the only things I am certain about the Race is that my faith will be made stronger. I have no doubt that my life will be forever changed and that my relationship with the Lord will only grow.

I follow Prepare My Mission on Instagram. The other day they posted a map of the world. Their caption was “Borders are overrated.”

I couldn’t agree more. Who needs borders? I sure don’t. I will go anywhere I am called no matter how far. I just have to stop worrying and start trusting Him more.

Because he is calling me where there are no borders.

He has never failed me.

He won’t start now.
