Instead of coming to the Philippines straight from Cambodia, we took a bus back into Thailand to catch our flight out of Bangkok. But instead of heading straight to the airport, we actually had 5 spare days in Thailand. One of those days, I was lucky enough to spend the day with some friends from back home.
Carly and Sara, two former classmates of mine at CBU, are doing a semester overseas study abroad program in Bangkok. They are working with Nightlight Organization, a ministry that focuses on helping and removing women from the prostitution lifestyle that is heavy in downtown Bangkok, and instead, placing them in jobs where they make jewelry for a living. They have been there since September 15th, but I wasn’t able to make it work to meet them the last time I was in Thailand. So instead we set up a date for the day I got back from Cambodia.
And it was an amazing day! If you read my blog Worth It, you might remember how I said that comforts aren’t a part of life, they are a perk of life. Well this blog is dedicated to my friends Carly and Sarah, who gave me and my teammate a day of perks. They were so generous and kind to us, and we were able to enjoy perks such as pesto chicken sandwiches, starbucks, mall trips, and foot massages, as well as their company of course! It was truly a blessing and I day I won’t forget. Thank you SO much! I pray that the rest of your time in Bangkok is amazing and that God teaches you some neat things. God Bless you both!
