Well first thing is first… training camp has officially ended!! We have been commissioned, stuffed with information, undergone transformations, and are now equipped to head out to the nations and share the love of Christ!

Here’s a look at our schedule for the next few days…
Sept. 14th: laundromat, walmart, Atlanta, hotel room
    Sept. 15th: fly to Thailand!
Sept. 16th: arrive in Thailand pretty late their time
Sept. 17th: blessed to have a “jet lag” day
Sept. 18th: RACE DAY and orientation
Sept. 19th: tour the local temples in Bangkok
Sept. 20th: head out to our specific ministry locations

So what are these specific ministry locations you ask? Well my team is heading to Ratchaburi, a province in central Thailand close to the Thai-Burmese border and about 2 hours from Bangkok. There are a plethora of ministry opportunities available here, working alongside the local YWAM (Youth With A Mission) team. They are specifically focused on the youth, building relationships with them through teaching English and running camps, such as music, sport, and English camps. There are at least 10 schools in the area as well, giving our team many opportunities to reach the lives of the youth of Thailand. There is also a local University where we can build relationships through their English club. Other ministry opportunities include going to a local orphanage, serving the local churches, and evangelism in the nearby villages.

Pretty cool, huh!? It’s exciting to know some details. The other 3 teams will be in nearby locations as well, about 2 or less hours away from us. Actually, speaking of teams, let me introduce you to our final teams…

Team
Beloved One… Heather, Caitlin, Becky, Jenn, Kari, and Renee
Team
Less… Kyle, Colleen, Danny, Sarah Burrows, Jackie, Kelly, and Lindsey
Team
Ignite… Molly, Seth, Aaron, Krystal, Jeanette, Megan, and Traci
Team
Seven:Eleven… Mark, Brandon, Sarah Lapp, Haley, Cameron, Pam, and ME!

Yeah, I may be a little biased, but I’m pretty sure we have the coolest team name. Here are some reasons why:
  1. There are 7 of us on the team and we are going to 11 countries
  2. It stands for Mark 7:11 where the word “Corban” means a gift devoted to God
  3. Mark is our leader and it’s from the Book of Mark
  4. Who doesn’t love a good slurpee?

Sooo one more new bit of information for you… our route has already been changed. Our first meeting this morning Jerry (an AIM staff member) walks out and asks us, “how would you all like to go to the Philippines?” Ummm okay! ha ha So instead of being in China for 2 months we will now be stopping in the Philippines for the first month. Pretty cool! Well, I’m excited anyways! Thanks for staying tuned with the updates!
